PURPOSE:To suppress the scattering light returning to a laser beam emitting source by irregular reflection by efficiently absorbing the laser beam changed in the course by a reflection mirror during the halt of laser beam processing, thereby changing the laser beam to heat. CONSTITUTION:An absorber 11 of this laser beam absorbing device 10 is constituted by tightly assembling many needle-like members 14 and is formed with a recess 16 of a circular conical shape by the assembly of the front ends of these many needle-like members 14. Such absorber 14 is provided with a cooler 13 including a cooling water path 12 around the absorber 11. The laser beam Ls changed in the course by the reflection mirror 2 is received by the absorber 11 and is progressed by repeating reflection between the adjacent needle-like members 14 to a deep part where the laser beam is absorbed. The needle-like members 14 heated by this laser beam are cooled by the cooler 13. |
