<p>A flat-sorter system (10) for sorting and conveying articles about a rail structure (20, 22) in the illustrated embodiment, the articles are carried on trays (18) coupled to a support carriage (26) provided with a system of wheels (24). The support carriage is coupled to a pin (32) mounted to a drive chain (14) having multiple pins (32) at spaced intervals along the length of the chain. The chain imparts a drive force to the support carriage for moving the trays along the rail structure.</p> |
