<p>Disclosed is an improved photoelectric control system with an enlarged shaft aperture (131) to permit further deflection of the joystick and eliminate any possible contact with the joystick shaft (129). An emitter (109) and detector (111) are on one side and the corresponding emitter and detector is on the other side to eliminate cross-talk. Separate cavities (105, 107) are provided in the housing for each emitter and for each detector, rather than having more than one emitter or detector in the same cavity. A circuit board assembly is aligned with pins (141) extending from the housing (103) to ensure that the circuit board (117) is accurately aligned. The cover (119) is attached using pins and sockets (147), allowing a gap between the board and the cover. The cover is secured by adhesive on the pins. The joystick can be converted between 4-way and 8-way detection using a single actuator or bushing that can be reversed.</p> |
