PURPOSE:To provide highly flexible fibers capable of suction take up in high speed in the melt spinning process, causing no staining on the spinneret during its production, and producible stably with time. CONSTITUTION:The fibers can be obtained by melt spinning of a blended structure composed of octene-1-contg. linear low-density polyethylene and crystalline polypropylene. The fibers have the following characteristics: (1) for the linear low-density polyethylene, melt index determined by the ASTM D-1238(E): 25-100g/10min, and heat of fusion: >=25cal/g; (2) for the crystalline polypropylene, melt flow rate determined by the ASTM D-1238(L): <=15 g/10min, and (3) blend ratio by weight of the linear low-density polyethylene to the crystalline polypropylene: (95-5):(5-50). |
