Water-boiling appliance

The water-boiling appliance consists of a base station, to which mains voltage can be applied, and a kettle mountable thereon. The kettle has a kettle bottom which is drawn in in the manner of a pot and is peripherally surrounded by an edge of the kettle casing projecting from the underside of the kettle. Accommodated in a hollow space formed thereby are an electric heating device and a contact plug which is connected thereto and is electrically connectable to a mating socket provided on the base station and projecting upwardly therefrom. The contact plug and the mating socket are thus arranged in protected fashion in the interior of the water-boiling appliance. In one embodiment, the drawn-in kettle bottom is surrounded by an annular space which extends between an edge flange of the kettle bottom which encloses the hollow space and an edge of the kettle casing and serves to receive a residual water quantity.
