In the radial piston pump, a pressure limiter (20) is arranged coaxially with the driving shaft (4). A spring (21) arranged on the limiter load side bears on a sleeve (32) through a washer (31), the latter being provided with a choking port (33). When the pressure limiter is in operation in response to a start-up in cold conditions, the oil is rapidly heated when passing through the choking port and becomes more fluid. Consequently, there is no excess of dynamic pressure in a return chamber (24) which would otherwise cause a sudden displacement of the shaft (4), thus producing hammer blows. Furthermore, the choking port (33) generates an oil jet directed towards an axial bore (26) of the shaft (4). Thus, during the critical start-up phase, the bearings (29, 30) receive warmer oil throught the radial bores (27, 28) opening into the radial bore (26). |
