PURPOSE:To improve operability by performing the display of a special character only when it is needed and performing alternate display when it is not needed by providing a display control means for displaying the special character in place of a form enabling high-speed display. CONSTITUTION:Corresponding to the designation of a document input mode, a CPU 11 alternately displays a graphic character on a document input picture in place of the form enabling the high-speed display based on information (such as the kind, size and coordinate position of the character or the like) stored in a graphic area 13b of a RAM 13. On the other hand, corresponding to the designation of a graphic input mode, the CPU 11 sets the display mode of the graphic character and normally displays the graphic character on a graphic character input picture. Since the graphic character is normally displayed only when the display is required but the alternate display is performed when it is not required, time required for displaying the graphic character can be considerably shortened when the enlargement/reduction processing of the graphic character is realized only by software logic, and operability can be improved. |
