PURPOSE: To insert a staple into a workpiece without making both legs interfere by molding the staple of a clinch staple, by arranging a pair of legs extending in the vertical direction from the central part and taking a means by which each of distal ends of both legs is chamfered. CONSTITUTION: In order to manufacture an assembly of clinch stapes, e.g. an assembly 20 of fasteners, wires 42 arranged in parallel on a plane are successively fed at first to an adhesive sticking station 44 and then to an adhesive curing station 46. The wires are fed to a cutting station 48 to cut a blank by means of a pair of cutting tools 50 and 52. Then, the blank is fed to a molding station 66 to mold the assembly of fasteners 20 by means of a pair of molding tools 68 and 70. By the way, each fastener 22 in the assembly 20 of fasteners is molded into a U-shape wherein a pair of legs 26 and 28 are projected in the vertical direction from both end parts of the central part 24. In addition, to insert the fasteners 22 into a pair of workpieces, each of distal ends 30 and 32 of both legs 26 and 28 is chamfered. |
