The chair has two spaced parallel flanges (30,30') protruding down from underneath the seat (22). The seat is fixed on a support frame (10) so that it can be inclined to several sides. Two spaced parallel flanges (20,20') project up from the support frame. The seat flanges and support frame flanges are parallel and spaced from each other. Elastic buffer elements (32) which allow the incline adjustment are mounted with their axes at least approximately horizontal between a seat flange and support flange. The flanges can be arranged in the longitudinal direction of the seat and the buffer elements across same.
