A process for covering workpieces with a film on more than one side provides that the film blank placed over the workpiece to be covered is first of all pressed under surface contact with the workpiece to be covered against the heating device, and thereafter is removed again from the heating device together with the workpiece, while maintaining contact, during the generation of a difference in pressure. This process brings major improvements by precisely defined temperature control over the entire film and the underlying surface of the workpiece.
