PURPOSE:To quickly accelerate a motor until the number of the motor's rotations reaches a specified value and lock the number of rotations at the value by synthesizing the output of a phase frequency comparator and that of a phase comparator to produce motor control signal output. CONSTITUTION:This method for controlling motor speed involves a reference pulse generating circuit 1, an acceleration pulse generating circuit 7, a phase frequency comparator 8, low-pass filters 9a and 9b, a phase comparator 2 and a synthesizing circuit 10. The phase frequency comparator 8 produces output for high acceleration control until the number of rotations of a motor 6 approaches a specified value. This allows quick acceleration to the vicinity of the specified number of rotations. In proximity to the specified number of rotations, the phase comparator 2 with a duty ratio set for acceleration control produces the signal output of phase difference between reference pulse signal and position detection signal. This quickly locks the number of rotations at a specified value. |
