PRESS-CONTACT MECHANISM FOR IC CONTACT FOR RECORDING MEDIUM HOUSING BODY WITH IC MEMORY

PURPOSE:To compose a recording medium housing body by mounting an IC memory on the outside wall of a casing housing the recording medium and to electrically and surely connect the connecting terminal of the IC memory to the side of a recording/reproducing device when the recording medium housing body is mounted on a prescribed mounting position in the recording/ reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:When a tape cassette 1 mounting an IC memory 9 on the outside wall of a casing housing a magnetic tape is used and the tape cassette 1 is mounted on a prescribed mounting position in a recording/reproducing device 10 by means of the cassette holder of a recording medium transferring means, a connector 34 having plural conductive press-contact members 34b is automatically brought into press-contact with plural connecting terminals 9a of the IC memory 9. At this time, whether or not plural conductive press-contact members 34b are electrically connected to the plural connecting terminals 9a of the IC memory 9 is judged by means of a judging means 37 for connecting condition and press-contact operation is automatically repeated at the time of defective condition.
