PURPOSE:To provide a method of forming a barrier rib, with which the number of manufacturing processes is reduced, and with which mask adjustment is facilitated at the same time. CONSTITUTION:When the cell space of a gas discharging type display panel is to be formed, a barrier rib and a priming slit are formed practically at the same time by one-time sand blast process. Namely, when a resist mask 39 is formed, a region which is easily broken by sand blasting, or a weak resistance region 35 is formed on one part of the resist mask. A plurality of holes for exposing the surface of a dielectric layer 32 are formed in the weak resistance region. The barrier rib and the priming slit are formed by one-time sand blast process on the dielectric layer by using the resist mask provided with the weak resistance region. The resist mask left on the surface of the barrier rib is removed afterwards. |
