PRODUCTION OF PLEAT-FINISHED PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To provide a method for production of a pleat-finished product, capable of giving remarkably high shape retention properties without giving a damage to a product or without requiring a special apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A low-molecular protein having <=10000 molecular weight is applied to a fabric partly or wholly composed of a wool fiber and the resultant treated fabric is subsequently dried at <=130 deg.C. The dried fabric is sewen and a pleat finishing treatment is applied thereto. A wet heating treatment is subsequently applied to the pleat-finished part to denaturate protein contained in the wool fiber. Thus, the shape retention properties of the pleat-finished part can be improved.
