PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display device having characteristics good in both reflection and transmission. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal display device is constituted by filling a liquid crystal 4 between a pair of substrates 1a and 1b laminated and formed with transparent electrodes and oriented films on their opposite surfaces. A polarizing plate 3a is arranged on the outer side of the one substrate 1a of a pair of the substrates and a reflection sheet 10 arranged with a polarizing plate 3b and a back light diffusion plate 11 arranged with a polarizing plate 3c are installed successively on the outer side of the other substrate 1b. The one substrate is laminated and arranged with a phase difference plate 5a for the polarizing plate on the substrate or the reflection sheet is laminated and arranged with the phase difference plate for the polarizing plate on the sheet. The back light diffusion plate is laminated and arranged with at least one sheet of phase difference plates 5b for the polarizing plate on the back light diffusion plate. The reflection sheet is insertably and removably arranged between the other substrate and the back light diffusion plate. |
