The invention relates to an item of jewellery having two ring shanks (2, 3) which are arranged in parallel and coaxially relative to each other and are connected via at least two webs (4), and having at least one setting (6), held between the ring shanks (2, 3), for a gem (7) or the like. An item of jewellery according to the generic type, which is variable in many different ways, is achieved in that the setting (6) is arranged on a third ring shank (8) which is arranged releasably between the first two ring shanks (2, 3) and whose diameter corresponds substantially to the diameter of the first two ring shanks (2, 3), and in that the axial width of the third ring shank (8) corresponds at least in partial regions to the distance between the first two ring shanks (2, 3) so that the third ring shank (8) can be clamped between the first two ring shanks (2, 3). <IMAGE>
