ADENOVIRUS FOR THE TRANSFER OF FOREIGN DNA INTO HIGHER EUCARYOTIC CELLS

Described is an adenovirus whose surface has been modified with transferrin for the introduction of foreign DNA into higher eucaryotic cells, bonding preferably being through the glycoprotein part of the transferrin. The foreign DNA is imported into cells which have no adenovirus receptors and expressed. The adenovirus may be recombinant or non-recombinant.
