Lying system with frame and a supporting arrangement on which a horizontally divided mattress is laid, which mattress contains at least one spring interior comprising springs made of steel wire which are arranged in rows side by side and are connected to one another, part of these springs being adapted, by addition of further components, with respect to their varying height as a result of the weight loading due to the person resting on the system, to the weight, the height and the physique of the person and at the same time the varying height of part of the springs by at least one additional weight inserted horizontally, in the transverse direction of the system, into a spring interior and/or by at least one flexible force-distributing element placed, in the transverse direction of the system, upon a spring interior.
