MAP DISPLAY PROCESSING METHOD FOR MOBILE NAVIGATION SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a map display processing method for a mobile navigation system in which processing time can be shortened at the time of switching the scale of a map without increasing the capacity of a video memory. CONSTITUTION:Upon detecting stoppage of vehicle (Step S1) a part of map data for a predetermined range of area including the vehicle is read out at a scale different from that of the displayed map from a CD-ROM and then it is developed on a video memory (Step S2). When switching of map scale is requested (Step S3), residual map data of different scale is read out from the CD-ROM and developed on the video memory (Step S4). A map around the vehicle position is then displayed based on the map data of new scale.
