Centrifugal tumbling machine and method for its operation

A method for operating a centrifugral tumbling machine is described in which an annular-gap check is carried out before commencement of the working by introducing a specific quantity of liquid into the working container and measuring the period of time which elapses until at least a part of this quantity of liquid has passed through the gap. This period of time is compared with a desired time representative of the gap width, and the machine is started only when the actual time lies within a specific tolerance range relative to the desired time.
