In fitting nozzle bottoms or guide vane rings into the housing of a turbine or a turbocompressor, individual nozzle bottoms or guide vane half-rings are first of all connected to an assembly unit serving as nozzle bottom carrier or guide vane carrier. The assembly unit is then in turn guided in the housing or a housing assembly by means of a ring land projecting beyond the other half-rings. In order to obtain an assembly unit with particularly high stability, especially in the case of larger temperature differences and to achieve an especially small outside diameter, the nozzle bottoms and guide vane half rings are positioned in a corresponding device and a welded joint made between all nozzle bottoms or guide vane half-rings (9) to be combined into an assembly unit (1 to 4) by electron beam welding or laser welding. <IMAGE>
