PURPOSE:To provide a vibration absorber and a method of manufacturing this vibration absorber usable in a wide field of civil engineering, construction, machinery, and the like, high in vibration damping performance in a wide range of frequency bands and excellent in vibration absorbability so as to absorb impact caused by vibration, thereby heightening the durability of that part to reduce an ill effect. CONSTITUTION:A vibration absorber is formed by molding and hardening a mixture of epoxy resin and metallic powder grain coated with a high polymer with high damping property. At the time of manufacturing this vibration absorber, the surface of metallic powder grain is coated with the high polymer with high clamping property, and the metallic powder grain coated with the high polymer with high damping property is mixed in the epoxy resin containing a hardening agent. This mixture is filled in a mold of the specified shape for molding and hardened. |
