PURPOSE: To obtain an electrode system having the features such that it gives clear signals with less noise, it can be thrown away, and it does not prick fetal skin as it does not have sharp edges, etc., by providing the subject device with an electrical insulation substrate, an electrode on the substrate and electricity-conductive adhesive layer on the electrode to be adhered to a living body, which is activated by moisture. CONSTITUTION: A fetal electrode sensor 12 is mounted on the right face 21 of the substrate 11 and the sensor 14 of a reference electrode or the main electrode concerned is mounted on the back face 22 of the substrate 11. The fetal electrode sensor 12 is coated with a film-forming layer 17 which is moisture- activated when an electrode 10 is brought into contact with such a moist plane as a fetal scalp. The layer 17 is manufactured using the following processes; a polymer solution is directly flowed and lets run to the head of the electrode device 10; next, it is dried to remove the water and a flexible, non-sticking and non-adherent film is formed. Further, the water content of the final dried film is to be below 25% w/w and the adhesive strength is to be 50-500 g/cm<2> . |
