PURPOSE:To improve safety, easily cope even with various kinds of discharge lamps, and also easily cope with load abnormal time by dividing secondary winding of a transformer, driving the corresponding discharge lamps in lighting, and making common use of one ends of the discharge lamps. CONSTITUTION:Output of high frequency voltage of an inverter circuit G is connected to the primary winding of a transformer T. This transformer T has individual secondary windings, and a load circuit composed of corresponding current limiting elements and discharge lamps (Z1 and 1), (Z2 and 2)... is driven, and respective discharge lamps 1, 2... are lighted. One ends of the discharge lamps 1, 2... are used in common with each other. Thereby, abnormal high level voltage is not generated at no-load time as compared with multiple lamp series lighting three systems, and safety is improved, and coping with the discharge lamps having a different specification or coping with lighting maintenance of residual discharge lamps even when a part of the discharge lamps stops a function, can be facilitated, and since one ends of the discharge lamps are used in common with each other, reference electric potential of the discharge lamps becomes constant, so that coping with abnormal load time can be also facilitated. |
