<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high picture quality expanded image by suppressing the degradation of an edge part generated when an interlaced image is expanded by interpolating a scanning line. CONSTITUTION:The motion of a basically inputted interlaced system video signal is detected, and if the signal is a still picture as a result, an interpolation scanning line may be prepared between fields as shown in a Fig. (c). For instance, in the (b) where the interpolation scanning line is prepared within a field, the first scanning line BW within a broken line becomes B by preparing it by the calculation of the C1 of the nth field and the D2 of the (n-1)th field. In the same way, the last scanning line BW becomes W by preparing it by the calculation of the E2 of the (n-1)th field and the D3 of the (n-2)th field. Thus, the interpolation scanning line is prepared by the calculation between fields.</p> |
