PURPOSE:An antibacterial and antifungal composition having improved synergistic effect, comprising dehydroacetic acid or sorbic acid and a specific glycine derivative. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising (A) at least one type of dehydroacetic acid or its salt or sorbic acid or its salt and (B) 5-40 wt.% based on (A) of a long-chain alkyl diaminoethylglycine, e.g. dodecyldiaminoethylglycine. The glycine derivative has an LD50 of 30g/kg and very low toxicity. The composition is usable in industrical products, cosmetics, and medicines. |
