IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming device which makes more securely the surface potential of a photosensitive body proper in a relatively short time. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with: a main electrifying charger 2 which electrifies the surface of a photosensitive drum 1; a potential sensor 15 which detects the surface potential of the photosensitive drum 1 electrified by the main electrifying charger 2 based on voltage data obtained in the previous electrification; and a CPU 16 which controls the main electrifying charger 2 so that the potential detected by the potential sensor 15 closes to the target potential of a dark part as possible. The device carries out image formation by using the photosensitive drum 1 after electrifying the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 by means of the main electrifying charger 2 controlled by the CPU 16.
