PURPOSE: To provide the currency confirmation device which detects a forged bill that can not be discriminated magnetically from a genuine bill. CONSTITUTION: The bill confirmation device is provided which has core legs 48 and 50 formed of a magnetic material and a conductive material while having 1st and 2nd gaps 56 and 62 at an interval and tests both magnetic characteristics and conductivity of a bill 10. Coils 52 and 54 supported on the legs generate signals indicating the magnetic characteristics of the paper money moving across the 1st gap 56. A detector which is connected across the 2nd gap 62 indicates the presence of a conductive material bridging the 1st gap. |
