PURPOSE:To prevent burning of the entire current lead by a method wherein the periphery of a core part composed of an oxide superconductor with no orientation is covered with an outer layer of an oxide superconductor orientated in the specific direction. CONSTITUTION:In a current leading oxide superconductor in which an outer layer thereof orientated in the direction in which the C-axis direction of crystals is towards an outer side when seen in a cross section covers the periphery of a core part composed of an oxide superconductor with no orientation. The thickness of the outer layer of this oxide superconductor is made 1/3 or less of that of the entire conductor. Also, materials being an oxide superconductor are compressed, molded, and hardened, and further sintered to make a sintered body, of which a surface part is heated at a partial melt start temperature or more and thereafter cooled to manufacture this current leading oxide superconductor. Thus, it is possible to obtain a current lead applicable to a superconductor for a large current and not reaching complete burning if quenched, and its manufacturing method. |
