Height-adjustment device for the shoulder belt of a seat belt

A height-adjustment device for a shoulder belt with a base which can be fastened on a vehicle body and has a large number of openings. A slide mechanism can be slid along the base and bears a belt guide. A locking mechanism is likewise carried along by the slide mechanism. The locking mechanism has a locking member which can be pivoted about a first axis in relation to the slide mechanism. The locking member has an end part which can be received in one of the openings in order to block the movements of the slide mechanism in relation to the base. At least one release lever, which can be brought into engagement manually, is guided along by the slide mechanism and can be pivoted about a second axis transversely to the first axis. The release lever has a first part which can be brought into engagement with the locking member in order to pivot the locking member about the first axis and in particular for removing the end part of the locking member from one of the openings in order thus to release the slide mechanism for a sliding movement in relation to the base. The release lever has a manually grippable second part for pivoting the release lever about the second axis.
