PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a printer by deciding a print reference position to the carrier of a carriage at printing time by contacting the upper end of the bearing of the carrier with the lower end of the carriage. CONSTITUTION:A hammer 71 presses a type of a daisy wheel 69 at a printing position to print, and the elevational fluctuations of a carriage 52 can be effectively prevented by contacting the side plates 52a, 52b of the carriage 52 with bearings 53a, 53b to engage a catcher with a catch bar 73. A printing height is decided with the upper ends of the bearings 53a, 53b as reference. Since a carrier 51, the carriage 52 are formed by pressing with the bearings 53a, 53b as references, the accuracy of printing position is improved. Accordingly, a mechanism for deciding the printing height is not necessarily separately provided, and the cost can be reduced. |
