PURPOSE:To provide an electro-recording ink ribbon wherein the ink ribbon itself possesses elasticity, a recording electrode and resistant layer of an ink ribbon can be brought into contact stably with each other and favorable image record is made possible. CONSTITUTION:An elastic layer 14c is provided between an ink layer 14d of an electro-recording ink ribbon 14 which is piled upon image receiving paper P and conveyed. The ink ribbon is constituted so that at the time of performance of recording, the elastic layer 14c of the ink ribbon 14 is deformed by corresponding to fixing accuracy and vibration of the ink ribbon 14 and a recording head 12 and unevenness of the surface of the ink ribbon 14 and contact of the resistant layer 14a of the ink ribbon with a recording electrode 23 and return circuit electrode is stabilized.
