PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform a test rapidly and obtain a clear diagnostic display picture by correcting automatically the gain of an amplifier on a basis of the strength of tomogram information signals obtained from an ultrasonic probe and making the luminance of the display picture uniform. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic probe 6 receives the reflection ultrasonic wave from a tested part and supplies it to detector circuit 9 through switch circuits 5a to 5n, and video signals are obtained here and are supplied to variable gain amplifier 10. Variable gain amplifier 10 amplifies video signals and supplies the result to not only monitor 11 but also integrated value detection parts a and b, and the gain of variable gain amplifier 10 for the next frame is set variably according to the change of output video signals of variable gain amplifier 10 for the preceding frame on a basis of switching control signals from control circuit 3. As a result, control is so performed that average luminances on two divided screens of monitor 11 may be equal to each other. |
