The mode deciding system of a video signal encoder by Eureka 95 project of HD-MAC system is disclosed so that A/D changing data outputted from a video camera executes a fast fourier transform, after that the mode is decided as a phase size computed at this time, and thus an exact mode is decided for the information loss to be reduced at maximum. The system is characterized by a construction that an output side of an A/D converter is connected with a high speed fourier converter, a phase detector, a mode decider and a route decider, thereby a select switch is controlled by its output and simultaneously the output is applied to a DATV BRE which is the digital associative TV bit rate encoder. |
