PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for displaying the visual image of X-ray response of a test body. CONSTITUTION: This device has an electron beam generating source 4 for exciting the X-ray emission from a test body 3. A detector 5 detects the X-ray photon emitted by the test body 3 and generates an output signal showing the energy received from the discrete pixel of the test body. One set of lookup tables 8 generates a visual color component signal related to the average energy of the X-ray photon emitted from the pixel in an energy band and detected by the detector 5 to each pixel and to each energy band. The range of X-ray energy is mapped to form a visual color range. An accumulator 9 combines the color component signal to each pixel. The color component to each pixel is stored in a frame memory connected to a monitor, and the monitor displays the image defined by the color component. |
