PURPOSE:To obtain an electrochemical device which has an excellent electric property, and can realize mass production while maintaining the mechanical strength and the chemical stability. CONSTITUTION:On both sides of a solid high polymer electrolyte 14, gas diffusion electrodes 12 and 13 which are composed of a woven or nonwoven fabric of a metallic fiber are provided. In this case, the gas diffusion electrodes may be composed by combining either one sort, or two sorts or more, of a mixing woven fabric or mixing nonwoven fabric of a metallic fiber and an organic fiber, a fabric made by fluorinating a metallic fiber, a fabric carrying catalyst particles, and a metallic fiber coated with other metal. And the electrode may be divided into plural parts, bent in a specific form, or provided with plural through holes, or it may be held by elastic collectors. |
