The invention relates to a method and a device for the predefined removal of pressurised shock-absorbing liquid from essentially cylindrical vibration dampers, of vehicles in particular. According to the invention, the essentially cylindrical vibration dampers are introduced into a disposal chamber which can be sealed off so as to be impermeable to oil, it being possible for such introduction to be carried out manually or via a transporting device, the vibration dampers being fixed in the disposal chamber. Then one or more apertures are inserted into the cylindrical tube in a predefined manner, using a tool.
