PURPOSE:To provide thermal recording paper imparting high recording density and excellent recording quality. CONSTITUTION:Thermal recording paper is constituted by providing a thermal color forming layer utilizing a color former and a developer on base paper and characterized by that the Bekk smoothness of the base paper is 200sea/10ml or more and the base paper contains 50wt.% or more of a pulp fiber prepared from pulp simultaneously satisfying formulae (L/D)X1000<=60 (1), 0.5<=L<=0.8 (2), L + or -0.2mm fraction >=50% (3) [wherein L is weighted average fiber length (mm) measured by the method defined in TAPPI No. 52 and D is an average fiber diameter (mum) measured by a microscopic photographic method] before beating and adjusted to 50-300ml in the freeness difference before and after heating. |
