PURPOSE:To obtain a bactericide composition having synergistic effect on rice blast, bacterial grain rot, etc., and exhibiting bactericidal effect at a low rate of application by combining a known bactericidal carboxamide or its optical isomer with a known specific bactericidal compound. CONSTITUTION:The bactericide composition for agricultural and horticultural use contains a bactericidal carboxamide of formula (R<1> is 1-4C alkyl; R<2> is H or methyl; R<3> is H or methyl; Z is halogen; the asymmetric carbon labeled with * has absolute configuration R) in combination with 5-ethyl-5,8-dihydro-8- oxo[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]quinoline-7-carboxylic acid as active components. The compound of formula is e.g. a mixture of N-(R)-[1-(4-chlorophenyl)-ethyl]-2,2- dichloro-1-ethyl-3t-methyl-1r-cyclopropanecarboxamide diastereomers. Preferably, the known bactericidal compound is used in an amount of about 0.1-10 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of the compound of formula. The composition exhibits strong bactericidal action and controls undesirable plant pathogens. |
