<p>PURPOSE:To promote exhaust emission control by supplying oxygen when one part of a catalyst converter is activated. CONSTITUTION:An ECU 20 determines whether a catalyst converter 18 is activated or not on the basis of an output of a catalyst temperature sensor 26. According to this determined result, the ECU 20 cuts off the fuel injection to at least one of the cylinders. An activated condition of an O2 sensor 23 is detected by an exhaust temperature sensor 25, and the ECU 20 determines whether the O2 sensor 23 is activated or not on the basis of this detected result and an exhaust flow rate found by an air flow meter. When the O2 sensor is activated, the ECU 20 carries out air/fuel ratio feedback control using the output of the O2 sensor 23.</p> |
