MAGNETISM PEN

PURPOSE: To provide an improved battery-powered magnetic pen which is used to input the data and information to a tablet computer. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic pen has an oscillator 42 which is connected to a timer 44 that can be reset, and a tip switch 26 which is connected to a pulse generator and the oscillator 42. The pulse generator resets the timer 44 to start a time-out period every time the magnetic pen is engaged with it object. If the pen first touches the object while the oscillator 42 is kept in an off-state, the oscillator 42 is turned on by the resetting operation of the timer 44. The frequency of the oscillator 42 is changed to the contact or near-by frequency when the switch 26 is opened or closed and as long as the oscillator 42 is kept in an on-state. Then the oscillator 42 is turned off when the timer 44 reaches a prescribed time-out period.
