PURPOSE:To provide an I/O unit which can unitedly cope with various kinds of I/O signals, be manufactured at a low cost by the effect of massproduction, and cope with the change and the extension of existing installation. CONSTITUTION:The title I/O unit mediates the delivering and receiving of signals between an industrial control apparatus and a field apparatus turning to an object to be controlled. The I/O unit is equipped with the following; an I/O nest 20 which is connected with the industrial control apparatus via bus lines, an I/O card 30 which is accommodated in the I/O nest and performs the converstion between the signal form of the industrial control apparatus and that of the field apparatus, and an interface part 40 which is mechanically mounted in the I/O nest. In the interface part, signal lines connected with the field apparatus are wired and electrically connected with the the I/O card.
