PURPOSE:To obtain a rare earth group permanent magnet which shows excellent residual magnetic flux density, large coercive force and maximum energy product and excellent magnetic characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet of the present invention is expressed by the general expression, R1-alpha-beta-gammaMalphaAbetaXgamma. R is a kind or two kinds or more of rare earth elements; M is a kind or two kinds or more of Fe, Co, Ni, Mn; A is a kind or two kinds or more of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W; X is a kind or two kinds or more of B, C, N, Si, P. The melted material of alloy having the composition, 0.60<=alpha<=0.85, 0<=beta<=0.10, gamma<0.15 is converted to powder by the ultraquick cooling method and the powder obtained is press-molded under the magnetic field. Thereby, a permanent magnet which shows excellent residual magnetic flux density and particularly shows large coercive force and maximum energy product. |
