The joints (3) cannot transmit any torques perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. Since the joints (3) and the centre of gravity S are at the same distance from the roadway no torque acting on the vehicle body is produced when centrifugal forces and the corresponding forces in the joints occur. It thus remains in its position. Rods (4) and a length compensator (8) are used to transmit and equalise the torques acting on the wheels and the entire axle thus remains in equilibrium. <IMAGE>
