PURPOSE:To produce an anion exchanger insoluble in acids and having a high ion exchange capability by allowing powdery porous chitosan to react with an excess dialdehyde and then with a diamine, and then reducing the reaction product with a reducing agent. CONSTITUTION:Low-mol.wt. chitosan having 10,000-230,000 mean mol.wt. is dissolved in acetic acid or dichloroacetic acid or in the mixture of both acids to prepare a 2-20% acidic soln. of chitosan. The acidic soln. is dropped in fixed portions into a basic coagulation bath of sodium hydroxide, etc., from a nozzle having 0.1-0.25mm diameter under pressure to obtain powdery porous chitosan. The powdery porous chitosan is allowed to react with an excess dialdehyde and then with a diamine, and the obtained reaction product is further reduced to obtain the powdery porous chitosan derivative having an ion- exchange group. |
