PURPOSE:To provide the receiver which effectively utilizes the error correcting capability of a convolutional code and realizes a good BER characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The received signal which is convolutionally encoded and is subjected to differential phase shift keying modulation is inputted to a one- symbol delay detector 320 in a multiple delay detecting circuit 310. The one- symbol delay detector 320 consisting of a one-symbol delay element 321 and a phase comparator 322 outputs a one-symbol delay detection signal which is the phase difference between the present reception signal and the reception signal of one symbol period before. One-symbol delay elements 331 and 332 and adders 335 and 336 modulo 2pi generate two-symbol and three-symbol delay detection signals from the one-symbol delay detection signal. A sequence estimator 340 estimates a transmission data sequence from one-symbol, two-symbol, and three-symbol delay detection signals outputted from the multiple delay detection circuit 310 based on the Viterbi algorithm and outputs the estimated result as a reception data sequence. |
