PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium having a thermal transfer recording layer providing a wear-resistant transfer image and having a high heat sensitivity and an ease of forming by a method wherein the thermal transfer recording medium is formed by providing the, thermal transfer layer containing a compound shown by a specific general formula on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium is formed by providing a thermal transfer layer containing a compound separately shown by a general formula on a substrate. In the formula, R represents 1-4C alkyl; and Ar represents hydrogen atom, 1-4C alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, or alkanol group. Alternatively, in a thermal transfer recording medium formed by successively providing a release layer and an ink layer on a substrate, the aforesaid aromatic sulfonamide compound may be incorporated in the release layer. As an another alternative, as a binder resin in the ink layer, a copolymer resin containing an acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile as a monomer component may be used. |
