PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer image receiving sheet providing a sharp image of a sufficient density with a high productivity in a thermal transfer method using a sublimating dye. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer image receiving sheet production method wherein a resin layer at least containing an intermediate layer and a dye accepting layer is formed on at least one surface of a substrate sheet, the intermediate layer is formed by using an aqueous coating liquid in which a resin for the intermediate layer is dispersed in a mixed medium of water and an organic solvent. Furthermore, in a thermal transfer image receiving sheet production method wherein a dye accepting layer transfer film formed by providing a transferring resin layer at least containing an intermediate layer and a dye accepting layer on a surface of a substrate film is attached to a substrate sheet for a thermal transfer image receiving sheet and, thereafter, the substrate film is released, this intermediate layer is formed by using an aqueous coating liquid in which a resin for the intermediate layer is dispersed in a mixed medium of water and an organic solvent. |
