PURPOSE:To provide a high speed wavelength sweeping device which increases a high speed wavelength sweeping quantity and maintains the quality of projecting beam pattern normal. CONSTITUTION:A high speed wavelength sweeping device is provided with an optical window, an sealing container 8 filled with liquid insulating medium 10, electro-optical crystal held in the sealing container 10 and a high voltage modulating power source which applies high frequency electric field to the electro-optical crystal. Frequency sweeping beams are applied to the electro- optical crystal through the optical window by orthogonally intersecting with the electric field.
