PURPOSE:To improve the productivity without lowering magnetic property by mixing and fusing ferrite constituents, which constitute hexagonal ferrite, and glass constituents, which contain a plurality of specified elements, and precipitating magnetic powder mainly composed of hexagonal ferrite. CONSTITUTION:This is the manufacture of magnetic powder, which precipitates the magnetic powder mainly composed of hexagonal ferrite by mixing and fusing ferrite constituents, which constitute hexagonal ferrite, and glass constituents, which constitute glass containing lithium, sodium, boron, and alkaline earth metals, and quenching them and then, heat-treating this cooled substance. Hereby, the temperature condition in nucleus heating process can be reduced without deteriorating magnetic property, so the productivity can be improved, and besides the powder distribution is equalized, so it can be used as magnetic record medium suitable for high-density record. |
